By train

Rotterdam offers excellent train connections. The international high speed trains stop here, but intercity trains from all over the Netherlands also call at Rotterdam Central Station.

Thalys
Rotterdam can be reached easily from France and Belgium with the Thalys high-speed train. The Thalys high-speed train makes Rotterdam just a short trip from France and Belgium. The Thalys now runs ten times a day. Travellers from the UK can take the Eurostar to Brussels and transfer to the Thalys there.

• Brussels - Rotterdam: 1h 12 min.
• Paris - Rotterdam 2h 36 min.

Intercity direct
Intercity direct of NS Hispeed is the comfortable train that travels over the high-speed rail line. This offers the fastest connection between Amsterdam and Breda via Schiphol Airport and Rotterdam. Intercity direct boards twice every hour from early in the morning till late in the evening. When travelling with Intercity direct between Rotterdam and Schiphol, you need an NS ticket plus Intercity direct ticket supplement. This paper ticket supplement is available via the NS website, NS self-service ticket machines, the NS Service Desk and travel agents. The stretch between Amsterdam Central Station and Schiphol is free of charge. Here you can travel with your NS ticket. Intercity direct makes Rotterdam just a short trip from:
• Amsterdam – Rotterdam: 41 min.
• Schiphol – Rotterdam: 25 min.
• Breda – Rotterdam: 25 min.

By car

From Amsterdam/The Hague

A13 in the direction of Rotterdam, at Kleinpolderplein follow the signs in the direction of Centrum, at the second traffic light follow the signs for Euromast/Maastunnel. Take the right tunnel after the traffic light and go left at the next traffic light. You will now be on the Weena Boulevard.

From Utrecht
A20 in the direction of The Hague/Hoek van Holland, take the Rotterdam Centrum/Schiebroek/Hillegersberg exit, at the end of the exit follow the signs to Centrum (Schieweg/Schiekade). You will now be on Hofplein square.

From Breda/Dordrecht
Take the right lane on the A16 motorway (follow Kralingen/Rotterdam Centrum). Cross the Van Brienenoordbrug and take the first exit (Rotterdam Centrum). Turn left at the end of the exit lane (roundabout in the direction of Centrum), and turn onto the Maasboulevard. Continue straight ahead (along de Boompjes). At Hotel Inntel (on your right-hand side), turn right onto the Schiedamsedijk. Continue until you have reached the Coolsingel-Westblaak intersection. Turn left onto the Westblaak and continue in the direction of the Hofplein.

By city bus or tram
Rotterdam has various options for public transfers to De Doelen. When you take the Tram you can use numbers: 4, 7, 8, 20, 21, 23 and 25 to station Kruisplein. From station Kruisplein it’s a two minutes walk to De Doelen. You can also take the city bus to Rotterdam Central Train Station, Bus numbers: 33, 38, 44, 48 or 49 will bring you to this stop.
